November 8th

The morning began foggy but eventually the sun broke through as we had a ringing session at Reculver. During the morning we saw 1 Barn Owl, 1 Little Owl, 2 Green Sandpipers, 30 Redwing, 5 Goldcrests, 1 Green Woodpecker, 3 Chiffchaffs, 2 Grey Wagtails, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 1 Blackcap, 3 Fieldfares, 8 Siskins, 39 Redpolls, 1 Sparrowhawk, 6 Dunlin flying over, 82 Cormorants, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Tufted Duck, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Kestrel, 12 Chaffinches, 1 Greenfinch, 1 Jay and 3 Lapwings W.

While we were ringing, Marc Heath walked form Reculver to Chamber's Wall and recorded 3 Red-legged Partridges, 1 Snipe, 1 Grey Heron, 5 Common Scoter, 1 Curlew, 140 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 1 Kestrel, 2 Redshank, 3 Oystercatchers, 5 Meadow Pipits, 7 Cetti's Warblers, 12 Reed Buntings, 1 Ringed Plover, 2 Little Egrets, 3 Turnstone, 4 Lapwings, 1 Water Rail, 2 Little Grebes, 14 Mallard, 60 Cormorants, 12 Shoveler W, 1 Red-throated Diver, 1 Teal, 1 Gannet, 2 Rock Pipits, 65 Golden Plover, 4 Tufted Duck, 3 Stonechats, 4 Redwings, 2 Fieldfares, 3 Redpoll, 1 Siskin, 2 Yellowhammers, 1 Common Buzzard, 2 Greylag Geese, 45 Corn Buntings and 5 Grey Plovers flying high S.
