March 18th
There was a rather chilly northerly wind blowing in rain showers this morning as we walked from Reculver to Coldharbour and back. We counted 130 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 13 Redshank, 4 Mute Swans, 2 Stonechats, 7 Mallard, 4 Oystercatchers, 1 first winter Mediterranean Gull, 5 Turnstone, 2 Ringed Plovers, 1 Snow Bunting, 2 Coot, 18 Russian White-fronted Geese, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 36 Black-headed Gulls in two groups flying high E, 1 Little Egret and 1 Kestrel.
The Snow Bunting was feeding on the beach closer to Reculver this morning |
