September 29th

After heavy overnight showers, this morning dawned bright but with a strong, chilly, westerly breeze blowing as we walked from Reculver to Coldharbour and back. We counted 500 Black-headed Gulls roosting at Reculver and sheltering out of the wind, 77 Turnstone, 18 Linnets, 75 Ringed Plovers, 4 Meadow Pipits, 1 Little Egret, 1 Wheatear, 4 Wigeon flying W, 7 Sanderling, 200 House Sparrows, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Sandwich Tern, 1 Redshank, 1 Kestrel, 5 House Martins W, 5 Chiffchaffs, 1 Blackcap and 12 Goldfinches.
