November 21st

On an overcast and increasingly drizzly morning we walked from Reculver to Coldharbour and back and recorded 3 Little Egrets, 197 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 27 Mute Swans, 3 Gannets, 11 Mallard, 1 Curlew, 3 Sandwich Terns, 8 Redshank, 4 Wigeon, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Shelduck, 5 Turnstone, 1 Grey Plover, 1 Oystercatcher, 35 Cormorants, 14 Coot, 4 Goldfinches, 4 Red-throated Divers, 17 Carrion Crows, 86 Golden Plovers and 1 Stonechat.

Matt was out well before us this morning and walked from Reculver to Plumpudding and back. Birds he saw included 350 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 17 Gannet, 5 Red-throated Divers, 1,200 Cormorants flying out to sea, 3 Little Egrets, 826 Lapwings, 1 Sparrowhawk, 5 Stonechats, 1 Grey Wagtail, 4 Kestrels, 1 Great Northern Diver, 35 Mute Swans, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 5 Wigeon, 6 Teal, 8 Cetti's Warblers, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Shelduck, 5 Sandwich Tern, 2 Common Scoter, 16 Curlew, 15 Coot, 5 Bearded Tits, 1 Water Rail, 1 Rock Pipit, 90 Sanderling, 25 Turnstone, 47 Grey Plover, 40 Ringed Plovers, 46 Redshank, 110 Oystercatchers, 5 Greenfinches, 3 Redwings, 1 Peregrine, 12 Gadwall, 1 Little Grebe, 2 Chiffchaffs, 7 Golden Plovers, 35 Fieldfares, 2 Goldcrests, 1 Green Woodpecker, 3 Tree Sparrows, 1 female Merlin, 1 Dartford Warbler, 1 Marsh Harrier, 40 Mallard and 1 Kingfisher.
