January 22nd
It was overcast with a chilly northerly breeze blowing this morning as we walked along the seawall from Reculver to Coldharbour and back. We counted 2 Common Buzzards, 11 Redshank, 335 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 73 Mallard, 23 Carrion Crows, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 12 Oystercatchers, 1 Curlew, 3 Goldfinches and 7 Snow Buntings. On the the way home we looked from the cycle track gate near the Roman Galley and found the juvenile Bewick's Swan with 28 Mute Swans.
