January 5th

This morning we walked along the seawall from Reculver to Coldharbour on a pleasant winter's morning. We counted 470 Dark-bellied Brent Geese, 1 female/immature male Black Redstart by the Towers, 1 Kestrel, 26 Turnstone, 3 Redshank, 5 Shelduck, 1 Stonechat, 34 Mallard, 3 Goldfinches, 7 Snow Buntings feeding on the beach, 7 Common Scoter flying E, 1 Little Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Oystercatcher, 4 Eider on the sea off Coldharbour, 2 Cetti's Warblers and 1 Marsh Harrier.
