We spent a chilly, but sunny morning, ringing at Shuart where we saw a good range of species including 3 Green Woodpeckers, 6 Mallard, 8 Chiffchaffs, 1 Barn Owl, 1 Water Rail, 22 Redwing, 2 Tree Sparrows, 3 Stonechats, 5 Swallows, 6 Ring-necked Parakeets, 14 Skylarks, 7 Greylag Geese, 1 Barnacle Goose, 4 Common Buzzards, 2 Lesser Redpoll, 7 Blackcaps, 110 Reed Buntings, 4 Brambling, 6 Cetti's Warblers, 10 Lapwings, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Yellowhammer, 2 Corn Buntings, 3 Greenfinches, 2 Siskins, 1 Curlew, 15 Goldfinches, 1 Marsh Harrier, 2 Jays, 1 Kestrel and 30 Linnets.
Birds ringed 133: Chiffchaff 10, Wren 3, Reed Buntings 85, Goldfinch 5, Stonechat 2, Robin 7, Tree Sparrow 1, Blue Tit 4, Great Tit 1, Cetti's Warbler 3, Meadow Pipit 1, Blackcap 5, Dunnock 3, Blackbird 3.
