An overnight change in the weather brought a cold and sunny morning which we spent ringing at Shuart. We saw 2 Kestrels, 2 Green Woodpeckers, 2 Marsh Harriers, 59 Fieldfares W, 2 Redwings, 10 Mute Swans, 1 Little Owl, 1 Water Rail, 2 Common Buzzards, 2 Cetti's Warblers, 5 Bramblings W, 30 Greylag Geese, 1 Yellowhammer, 4 Ring-necked Parakeets, 85 Stock Doves, 2 Greenfinches, 17 Skylarks, 20 Blackbirds, 1 Sparrowhawk, 70 Lapwings, 1 Stonechat, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 28 Chaffinches, 876 Starlings W, 45 Linnets, 2 Grey Herons, 1 Peregrine and 1 Lesser Redpoll.
Birds ringed 22: Wren 1, Robin 1, Chaffinch 4, Stonechat 1, Reed Bunting 7, Blackbird 7, Starling 1.

This afternoon we had a look at Minnis Bay where we saw 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Gannet, 89 Common Scoter and 1 immature male Velvet Scoter (204th).
This morning Terry Wilson found 5 Snow Buntings and 30 Common Scoter at Coldharbour and 1 Purple Sandpiper at Minnis Bay asleep with Redshank.
